This painting is on a piece of wood which used to be a section of A Resting Place. A temporary public art installation I created with Molly Rose Freeman. It was on the Atlanta BeltLine. After it was taken down it lived at a preschool, where I rebuilt it and made it better. Later it was taken down again and used in another way. Later on it was given to someone who had plans for it but they never happened. Years later it was returned to me in a state of disrepair. Muddy and rotten in parts, I salvaged sections of the original art. Then I painted over them and made new art. I cleaned and sanded and sealed the wood to stop any decay. I am happy I gave it a new life. I painted a number of paintings on the old wood sections. This is one of them. Each painting is different. I took what was left on the old painted wood and it spoke to me. I tried to just let the ideas flow. To protect some of the older work but not let it hinder the new ideas.
